DRW Distribution as we are today, happened sort-of by accident. After decades in distribution (starting at the end of 1981) and with the sale of our part of the JV with Petaluma called Distinguished Vineyards, I reverted to consulting to Australian producers, sourcing and providing go-to-market assistance to distributors through developing their imported wines offering. It’s when I couldn’t find a distributor for a couple of Barolo producers bound for big things here, that I thought I’d better do it myself. So the wonderful little Fratelli Barale of Barolo village and the remarkable Cru collection of Giovanni Sordo in nearby Castiglione Falletto, followed by another little gem which had been with us previously, the unique and exquisite Brunello of Montalcino producer Sassetti Pertimali, became the little collection I took to market. Lately, we’ve added the authentic Serralunga wines – not just Barolo/Nebbiolo, but also beautiful Dolcetto, Barbera and Moscato, each from little pockets around the Boasso family home and cellar-door in Gabutti. Trying to keep this little collection tight, to be able to give each the attention they deserve; but there is room for just one more; why not one of the greatest producers of the whole region, Marchesi di Gresy?

We remain trade-focused and driven by the mission to build the reputation and presence of each of our producers.
