2016 Giovanni Sordo Barbaresco

$102.00
Only 6 available

Since the very early 20th century, generations of the Sordo family have been quietly collecting parcels of the finest Nebbiolo-growing soil in the Langhe. They now have numerous plots of vines in Roero, Barbaresco and particularly Barolo.

During processing, the grapes undergo gentle crushing and destemming, followed by a long submerged-cap maceration, the duration of which varies based on the vintage. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled tainless steel vats. After six months of maturation in these vats, the wine ages for a further 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

Bright fresh red fruits and roses. Strawberry and confectionary tones. Dense and mouthfilling, persistent, grippy and zesty.

-

A fresh and delightful Barbaresco that opens with incense, rose petals and spices. Finely knit and tangy on the medium-bodied palate. Round and attractive on the finish - James Suckling

-
